So now the foot work begins!

As I wrote in my previous post, I have reached out to countless agencies in hope of receiving help, unfortunately it seems there is no funding available anywhere. So, what can I do to help myself and so many other Americans who face the same struggles and obstacles? Well I have been doing some research about how we can boost our economy, these are just a few ideas I’ve seen while researching;  raise minimum wage,  tax cuts,  Affordable Care Act reform,  Social Security reform,  allow exports of natural gas and the list goes on. Now I’m not going to pretend I know a lot about these issues, I assure you I do not. However, I am sure that there isn’t a whole lot I can do about them. I’m sure I’m not alone when I say “I want to make a difference somehow” but I’m not sure I would even know where to begin. Unfortunately,  most of what needs to be done in that area, is up to our government. So I did some more research. I found out that Americans are not taking their earned and paid vacations?? The ones who do however,  are going to Mexico, Canada and other countries. That of course got me thinking, if Americans took their vacations and took them at home in the United States, well that would certainly be a start in boosting our economy. So I’m taking a road trip!  I plan to cover as much of the United States as I can including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. I am going to try to promote U.S. I’m looking for destinations and ideas for every Walk of Life, every budget and all ages. Resorts,  hotels, bed and breakfasts, hostels and campgrounds. I plan to interview owners,  employees guests and locals. I will be taking lots of pictures and film coverage.  I hope you will join me on my quest! Today I sent out the first of my emails,  in search of a few sponsors to help me get started. Seeing as I am in Florida,  this will be where I start my journey. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to express them. Now wish me luck!

Overcoming obstacles.

Hello, my name is Juanita. I am new to blogging and this will be my first post.

I am about to embark on a crazy, scary and exciting Journey.

You see I have recently found myself in a tough situation. I am a Survivor of domestic violence. I am currently residing in a domestic violence shelter, in a city and state,  in which I am unfamiliar. I no longer have a place to call home, no vehicle and no job. Thank God for my unemployment check. I have been tirelessly pounding the pavement in search of work to no avail. I have tried to get help from various agencies, unfortunately I do not meet the criteria for some services and others simply have no funding available. I am not looking for pity,  I am a Survivor! If I can’t find a job,  I will create my own! I am going to see if I can somehow make a difference.

I’m not going to Pickett or protest or anything like that. This isn’t about politics, hunger, suffering or pain, it’s just the opposite. I refuse to just lay down and die.  I hope to bring awareness to our problems in another way so buckle up we are going on a road trip!
